René Pollesch Liebe ist kälter als das Kapital  René Pollesch is a german author and director. He was born in 1962 in Friedberg, Hessia and studied at Gießen University’s drama department. In 1996 he had a working scholarship with the Royal Court Theatre in London. In 1997 he recieved a grant from Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Pollesch got some prizes, for example the Mülheim Dramatists Prize 2001 and 2006. In his plays he exposes the audience to postmodern philosophy and cultural theory, employing diverse dramaturgical and linguistic techniques to distract and entertain at the same time. Text and performance style are interdependent in his work and therefore his plays are solely directed by himself.
